Located in the heart of downtown Carleton Place and just off the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail, Braumeister’s beer garden is a great place to grab a drink on a warm Summer evening.
Founder Rohit Gupta has been an avid home brewer for many years, combining his love of science with his love of beer. In 2013, he moved to Salzburg, Austria to teach high school science. It was there he developed an appreciation for everything the country had to offer, including some of the best beer in the world. He fell into the routine of socializing at the local beer garden after work. As someone new to the country, he appreciated the friendly and welcoming community he found there.
When he returned to Canada, Rohit had a dream to bring the delicious beer and great atmosphere of an Austrian beer garden to Ottawa. He surrounded himself with experienced individuals in the industry with the goal of providing an authentic Bavarian experience in your own backyard.
Braumeister is advised by award-winning Brewing Consultant Sheldon Scrivner. Sheldon trained in Germany and has been a brew master for several successful breweries in the U.S. With over 20 years of brewing experience, Sheldon ensures Braumeister follows traditional brewing methods and provides a consistent brew of some of the finest European styles.
Rohit and Sheldon hope to bring the friendly, welcoming beer culture of Europe to the beer-loving people of Lanark County.
